There are two such reliefs on the Davenport gate. The one on the left is reading a book. The one on the right is reading a scroll. This is the one on the left.

I made this out of reconstituted limestone cast over a solid and very heavy stone, mortar and limestone core with a felt bottom. I shaped the limestone by hand. I made this so you can display it two different ways: flat on a desktop, or hanging on a wall.

My intent was to achieve the exact look and feel of the original carved stone, even upon close inspection, including rain and mineral stains. It is indistinguishable from the original by touch, color and patina.

It is about seven inches long and weighs over 850 grams, or about 1.5 lbs. It took me about a month to design and make.

Made in the USA by me, a Davenport alum who passed through the York Street gate for four years and loved this sculpture.
