It is made of hand-shaped reconstituted limestone mixed with pulverized bronze and acrylic. It is finished in a rock-hard museum-grade preservation wax to retain the patina under harsh museum lighting.

Discovered in 1849, the original Kesselstadt mask is widely regarded as a profoundly intimate physical representation of the legendary playwright.

The original mold, taken as an impression directly from Shakespeare's face, is life size. This duplicate precisely copies the original, measuring 29cm long and weighing 526 grams, including the rough backside. No other representation of Shakespeare is both life-size and a direct physical impression of the man's face--other well-known depictions are either stylized posthumous artist renderings, portraits, or memorial carvings.

The museum display tag is included.

Made in the USA.
