This is a precise, museum-grade replica of the 1860 Leonard Volk (1828 - 1895) life mask made of the living Abraham Lincoln just as he was beginning his presidential campaign. It is finished in very hard museum wax. This comes with the museum display tag show in the photo.

It is made of hand-shaped reconstituted limestone mixed with pulverized bronze and acrylic. It is finished in a rock-hard museum-grade preservation wax to retain the patina under harsh museum lighting.

The original resides in the Smithsonian Museum of American History. It is widely regarded as the most faithful representation of the 16th American president in existence.

The original mold, taken from Lincoln's face directly at the onset of his presidential run, is life size. This duplicate precisely copies the original to within 0.2 mm of the Smithsonian original, including the rough backside. No other representation of Lincoln is both life-size and also a direct copy of the man's face at his most recognizable--other life-size busts are either artist renderings, carvings from photos, or of him much older.

The museum display tag is included.

Made in the USA.
